I'm not in VT anymore, but there's still foliage!

This past weekend I traveled to County Cork with AIFS to visit Cobh, Cork, and Blarney. Our first stop was in Cobh, Ireland (pronounced as cove) to take a tour in the Titanic Experience. Cobh was the last place that the Titanic docked before heading off to crash into an iceberg and sink at sea. I loved learning about the history of the Titanic that was not expressed in the movie! Of course, my friend and I had to pose how Jack and Rose did in the movie before we had arguably the best coffee at Leonardo's Cafe Kimbo (coincidence?).

The second stop was in Cork, Ireland, which happens to be a much bigger city than I had anticipated it to be. This city was filled with more shops than are in my hometown in Vermont. I had pizza for lunch with a few friends, but by the time our food came out there was only 10 minutes left of our time in Cork! I'm definitely going to have to re-visit Cork, so that I can get the full experience.

My favorite place that we visited on this trip was the Blarney Castle and Stone! There were so many steps to get up to the top of the castle and they were the most narrow set of stairs that I've ever walked up. While walking up to the top, we were able to go in some of the rooms that have been there since the castle was built. The view was probably the most similar to a view that I would see back home in Vermont, which made me so happy!

In addition to taking in the amazing views of foliage at the top of the Blarney Castle and walking around in the beautiful gardens, I was able to kiss the Blarney Stone! In order to do so, I had to lie down, grab the two poles, and then could kiss the stone.

This upcoming weekend I am headed off to Scotland to reunite with a few friends from the summer camp that I work at! I am very excited to visit Glasgow and Edinburgh!
