This past Saturday 23 of the AIFS students crowded into a bus to go tour County Clare in the West of Ireland. After an hour long bus ride, we made it to the Cliffs of Moher! There were so many different views of the cliffs that I could see and I still didn't see all of them. If there are any Harry Potter fans out there, the cliffs appeared in the Half Blood Prince! Yes, the cliffs are more beautiful in person than they are in pictures.

Next on the agenda was the Ailwee Caves. We took a tour of these caves that were discovered in 1944. The whole time I was nervous that a spider was going to start crawling on me and at one point someone jumped out at me just for fun. The tour guide turned out all of the lights during part of the tour and told us that if we sat in the darkness for two weeks straight, we would all go blind. Here's a picture that I took of a few friends in the caves.

After the caves we went to the Burren and visited the Poulnabrone Dolmen, which is a portal tomb. It's a really big rock structure that has been around for thousands of years. Honestly, I don't know much more about it than that it is a portal tomb and looks very cool. The area that is around the Poulnabrone is very rocky and you have to hop from rock to rock in order to get around.

Our last stop was in Ennis, a cute little town that has lots of shops and castles. We were all very tired and a couple of my friends and I just wanted ice cream because it's been our goal to eat ice cream in every place we visit. We found hot chocolate first and then 15 minutes before we had to leave FINALLY found ice cream, it was delicious, but not as good as Murphy's ice cream in Dingle.

This coming Saturday, the AIFS kids are visiting Cork, Ireland! I am very excited to continue seeing as much as I can of this beautiful country! I love Ireland and all of the people I've met so far.
